Sexual Assault Service Referrals

The Safe Helpline texting referral service can provide you with contact information for your nearest sexual assault services including your:

  • Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC)/Victim Advocate (VA)
  • Military Medical Treatment Facility
  • Military Chaplain
  • Judge Advocate General (JAG), Special Victims' Counsel (SVC), or Victims' Legal Counsel (VLC)
  • Military Police
  • Civilian Sexual Assault Service Provider

Transition Referrals

In addition to the resources listed above, the texting referral service can also provide Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and Civilian resources to Transitioning Service Members (TSMs).

Sexual Assault Service Referrals

To find your nearest Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC)/Victim Advocate (VA), medical facility, chaplain, JAG/SVC/VLC, military police, or civilian sexual assault service provider nearest you just text your zip code or installation / base name to:

  • 55-247 (inside the U.S.)
  • 001-202-470-5546 (outside the U.S.)

After you text us your location, we may ask you a few more questions, such as your Service affiliation, to help determine which resource best suits your needs.

Once we identify which resource is the closest to your location, we will text you the phone number for that service provider.

Note:

For text messages sent outside the U.S., users must have cell phones that have international texting capabilities. Message and data rates may apply.

Transition Referrals

In addition to the resources listed previously, the texting referral service can also provide Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and Civilian resources to Transitioning Service Members (TSMs) in the following service areas:

  • Education and Training Assistance
  • Employment Assistance
  • Basic Needs
  • Housing Assistance
  • Medical Health Care
  • Mental Health Care
  • Veterans Support
  • Transition Assistance Programs

After you text the word referral, we may ask you a few more questions, such as your Service affiliation and what resources you are looking for, to help determine which referral best suits your needs. Once we identify what referral you are seeking, we will text you the phone number or website.
